With Spring arriving in NYC, we’re in Spring cleaning and business back-end mode. We had the first nice day of 2023 and witnessed the first blooms of the year right underneath the Brooklyn Bridge. That vision brought us right back to a Spring 2022 wedding at the River Cafe. We thought we’d share with you, to relive it with us.
Charlotte and Andrew planned their Brooklyn/NYC destination wedding and traveled all the way from London for a week long trip with their closest family and friends. The River Cafe, located right underneath the Brooklyn Bridge, was the perfect space for their intimate wedding brunch followed by an afternoon of games and dancing to Taylor Swift at Barcade in Williamsburg. This wedding is dripping in NYC details — from the chic invites, vintage cab, and FiDi backdrop for their ceremony, Charlotte and Andrew created the true NY moment.
So sit back, maybe pour an Aperol Spritz if you’re feeling the season like we are, and enjoy these beautiful details from their day. Scroll all the way to the end for the vendors that made this day possible!

Meaghan & Brendon were the absolute dream photographers for our wedding. The photographs capture our day perfectly with a unique cool style of photography which drew us to them at the beginning. Immediately from the start of the day, they made both me & my wife feel comfortable in front of the camera. They were a pleasure to have around on the day and the photos as a result show how talented photographers they are and how nice people they are.
Portland, Maine is our favorite city. You know the saying “NY or nowhere”? Brendon and I like to say “NY or maaaaybe Portland”. Shirley and John invited us up to Portland for their wedding at O’Maine Studios right in the heart of the city. The size of Portland makes everywhere walkable, and we woke up at our AirBNB and walked straight to the old victorian home where they were getting ready. They got ready together and then drove themselves to the studio in a 1970’s VW Karmann — HAVE. FUCKING. MERCY.
If you’re already thinking “this wedding is the tits” - wait until you see the inside of O’Maine Studios. Our girl Lindsay stole the show by installing a floral canopy to hang over the ceremony space/dance floor. The matching table florals tied the entire room together and made this garage-style, open air room look like a colorful jungle.
Shirley + John were married by Shirley’s brother, and photographs taken by Shirley’s late father were hung all throughout the venue, making the day extra special.
This wedding is in the July issue of The Maine Mag — the article can be found here and in your favorite Portland, Maine shops.
